Justice Champion Spotlight: Televerde

Phoenix-based Televerde is a fully integrated sales and marketing technology organization with a proven execution model for generating demand and accelerating sales. The company combines end-to-end sales and marketing solutions to drive engagement, pipeline and revenue for the world’s leading B2B companies including SAP, Adobe-Marketo and GE. Since the company began in 1995, Televerde has generated more than $8B in revenue for its clients. Visit their website.

A purpose-built company, Televerde believes in second chance employment and strives to help disempowered people find their voice and reach their human potential. Seven of Televerde’s 10 engagement centers are staffed by incarcerated women in three U.S. prison facilities, representing 70 percent of the company’s 600+ global workforce. Since 1994, more than 3,000 women have graduated their program with an average recidivism rate of 5.4 percent. The success of the Televerde model was recently documented in a study by the Arizona State University Seidman Research Institute. View the study here.

No one understands the transformative power of the Televerde model better than the company’s Chief Social Responsibility Officer Michelle Cirocco who joined Televerde while serving a seven-year prison sentence at the Arizona Women’s Correctional Facility. She writes:

In addition to her responsibilities with Televerde, Michelle was recently named Executive Director of the Televerde Foundation, which launched in July. This non-profit organization aims to advance Televerde’s work by helping currently and formerly incarcerated women succeed in the global workforce.

The cornerstone of the foundation is the PATHS Program, which enables women to Prepare, Achieve and Transform for Healthy Success. The program begins up to one-year prior to release and includes a robust personal and professional development curriculum.

After release, the foundation continues to provide educational opportunities, the ability to receive scholarships, and mentoring. Visit their website to learn how you can support their work.

RBIJ is honoured to partner with Televerde. We look forward to continuing to support their amazing efforts and help one of society’s most marginalised communities: incarcerated women.
